Do you give it a miss?

We had been regulars at a hotel for a few years now. Going for a few days once or twice a year. Perhaps that isn’t regular enough!

We were returning and we know that parking can be an issue, but they have a small car park, with two disabled spaces, although we would make do with a normal space, if we could park, as the wheelchair comes out at the back, not the side!!

Anyway, we phoned to see if we could reserve a space, something they have offered us before and were told to ring the morning we were arriving and they would. We felt a bit reluctant to do this, as we were travelling several hundred miles and it felt a bit risky. If we rang and they said we had to be there at a certain time we could be hours away or what if they couldn’t do it, then we would have a long way to a public car park.

Not wanting to risk it, a few days later I called and asked, where as my husband asked before, the receptionist said it was first come, first served and I said that was fine but what time did she suggest that we get there in order to get a space. She then said well this is a long stay hotel, so people stay for days, weeks and even months, so who knows! Thanks Staybridge Suites – that was really helpful.

Well we are off to a different hotel, who so far have been very helpful but we haven’t arrived there yet.

Update – they were totally helpful and the stay couldn’t have gone better – thanks Holiday Inn Express.
