So you go back to somewhere you have stayed before, you go to three restaurants that you really enjoyed before.
You pre-book them all and then they are nothing like you remembered. Do you complain there and then? Do you just leave a bad review?
What do you expect, if you leave a bad review? Do you think they will contact you?
My first disappointment was about service etc. and I couldn’t really find anyone to complain to in the restaurant. It took me all my time to pay!! The food was nothing like the previous time, but I know it can just be a different chefs and/or suppliers.
The second was bad food and not the same experience at all. The staff were pleasant and you were seated so close to people I would have been difficult to complain.
My final disappointment was a pre-booked Afternoon Tea. We arrived to no service, just queue at the bar. Then they decided to serve us, we had pre-arranged food, due to an allergy, that now seemed to be an issue. We ordered one Tea, with a cocktail and advised one person didn’t drink as;cohol. They had no draft drinks, so it was a non-alcoholic Cocktail, which actually cost £9.00, which was more than a Cocktail. We had to get our own plates, cutlery and serviettes. We didn’t pay a service charge!!
Following my reviews, I was contacted by two of the three places and offered a complimentary meal, which we will take up in due course.
The moral of this is it is always worth leaving a review, even if you don’t get to complain on the day, but don’t just leave bad review.
My reviews vary from several five star reviews to several one star and everything in between.
