An increase for all

I can’t get over the price of eating out. Is it just me, or have prices increased to crazy amounts?

With Valentine’s Day approaching I was checking out menus and prices.

First of all, I found my local go to restaurant is charging £80 per person, which with drinks and service charge you can say goodbye to £200.

I had always loved Gordon Ramsay restaurants, but there are no special menus there, this year. I have been sent offers for Boston and Miami in USA, but nothing from UK.  I even had an email from another restaurant in Soho, advising Valentine’s Day, but when I looked further there was no special menu.

Then I received an email from a hotel in Central London offering Valentines Days meals for £160 including a glass of Champagne, which is outrageous.

Even some of the Dine In Meals, are a let down these days, I remember when M&S included a starter or side, main, dessert and wine. They haven’t increased the price, but there hasn’t been wine in theirs for a long time and it seems even the dessert has now disappeared.

I guess we can always make our own celebrations, making a meal ourselves and buying a special dessert or wine – whatever is what we like, as it seems the time for going out for Valentine’s Day is over.
