You might note from my postings that I do some things that are what I would consider cheap and cheerful and others that I would consider luxury.
I give good feedback for Customer Service but if it fails short of what I expect I will complain.
Some people say you can’t complain about that as it was a bargain. It doesn’t matter to me if it was a take-away at McDonalds or a Michelin Star restaurant if I don’t get what I paid for or I was treated badly I am going to complain.
Recently, I have complained about a hotel and I got a full refund and two automatic upgrades on my next two stays, plus some loyalty points. Our stay had been awful but it was worthwhile complaining, rather than never going back again. They have even changed their housekeeping processes, as a result of our complaint.
A old boss of mine once told me a complaint is a gift, it gives you the chance to put something right, if things are going wrong. I always remember this when I complain and wonder how many people don’t complain but bad mouth the business to others and never go back.
If you complain remember don’t shout at people #bekind – I prefer to do my complaining in writing.
