Firstly a belated Happy New Year………………I know it is 11 January but it is my first posting in 2026.
So far, our January has been pretty quiet, with trip out but this weekend was our first weekend away in 2026 and it was surprising, in a good way.
Last year we, had so many problems with Black Cab drivers, they wouldn’t stop if they saw a wheelchair, they overcharged us because we had a wheelchair and when I complained to one he even drive to run me over in Soho. However, this weekend we had to use Taxis on four journeys and all of them were nothing but helpful, kind and friendly. I hope this is the start of a new era. I have lost count of the number of drivers I have reported to TFL but so far this year no issues.
We also had problems with hotels, rooms not ready, room downgraded in 2025. This year we arrived early and our booked room was ready and waiting for us.
Whilst away we saw two shows, A Woman In Mind and The Devil Wears Prada. At both theatres all the staff were excellent, friendly and kind to two disabled people, who sometimes feel disregarded.
Let’s hope this is the year of stranger kindness
