Life is what you make it

In life, everyone has many ups and downs, but life is what you make it.

We are both disabled and my husband is a wheelchair user, but we seem to get around a lot, even more than some able-bodied friends we have.

We have regular theatre trips and weekends in London, among other places. We have holidays including Cruises and long-haul flights.

Don’t get me wrong, it is still difficult.  There are some theatres that just aren’t accessible or have accessible seating but no accessible toilets. There are some that try their best to be accessible, but don’t manage to be accessible for us, due to the way they are designed.

There is the issue with hotels, do we go for a comfortable room or a fully accessible room, decisions decisions, we decide based on where we are going and how long we are staying.

We just came back from a Spa trip, which we both enjoyed, in our own way. I had a massage treatment. I used the Spa facilities and managed a small walk in the garden. We had lovely meals and I enjoyed a couple of nights knowing I wasn’t going to be driving and enjoying the array of Cocktails available. It might not be everyone’s idea of a great trip, but we enjoyed it. We hooked up our Netflix and watched TV after dinner, we made the best of the trip, based on what we could do at the time.

Remember life is a limited length of time ……………..so let’s all make the most of it.
