Accessible Cruises – may be

I am on a bit of a mission to ensure disabled guests are not at a disadvantage in hotels, at theatre, pubs etc.

However, I have discovered the problem extends to Cruise ships. Personally we would rather have one Cruise in a Suite than a few Cruises in a cabin. That is just personal choice, as if either of us feel unwell we have luxurious accommodation to relax in. We also generally get a lot of perks, which means you don’t have to queue for things or get intimate private lounges, which we love. We have made many good friends in the lounges – they are our tribe.

We used to travel with P&O and Cunard, but that was pre-covid and pre-wheelchair. Since then, we have only cruised with Princess and Virgin. Most recently I have started looking at different Cruises and I found the class of ship Princess use for Cruising around the Japanese Islands, does not have an Accessible Suite. I also looked a TUI and found there ships don’t have an Accessible Suite, they have what I would Class as a Mini Suite, which means you don’t as much room but room is what you need when you have a wheelchair and even perhaps a rollatar in your cabin.

I haven’t finish my research yet, but it is really bugging me, that I can’t Access the same Cruises as others, without compromising my preferred accommodation.
