Many years ago my Mother In Law suggest we try out Thursford for their Christmas Show. We were a lot younger then and the thought of going to a show that she was on a Pensioners Coach Trip Calendar every year, wasn’t appealing at all.
Fast forward 20 odd years and, with someone we knew in the cast, we decided to give it a go and we have been going for the last 6 years. This is the first year we have not known someone in the cast!
The show is just amazing and I would recommend it to anyone of any age, who likes Christmas and Christmas Music. The Grounds are wonderful and you can opt to walk around the lights, for an extra fee. The walk takes about 40 minutes.
Be warned the venue is remote and I would recommend getting somewhere really local to stay, unless you are a local! We always stay at Holly Lodge and the fact we have been staying there for about 6 years now says it all. It must be all of 200 yards from the entrance!
So if you like Christmas, start planning to put this on your list of things to do for next year.
It will be on my list – again!
