How often do you buy tickets for a show or concert and then for reasons beyond your control you can’t make it to the performance?
You used to be able to re-sell the tickets but now that isn’t an option. I can understand why they have stopped the resale of tickets, due to the vast prices being charged when sometimes there weren’t even any tickets.
However, this has created an issue for the average theatregoer or concert goer, as having booked something often way in advance if they are no longer able to attend then they are stuck having paid out but then not being able to get an exchange or a refund.
Recently my husband broke his arm, thankfully we were able to exchange or get a refund on all but one set of the tickets we have booked.
The only place where we asked for a refund was for a Christmas Show. We have been going to this show every year for 8 years, also staying in the accommodation, we can have a refund on the accommodation but not on the tickets, even though there are no accessible seats left for the night we were going. We are not allowed to resell ourselves. I wouldn’t mind if they took back on sale or return and deducted an admin fee but this just seems so wrong but we won’t be returning there ever again, as I don’t think that it good customer service.
