Sometimes with a wheelchair there are some things and place you think you will never be able to go to again.
We though we would never be able to go to a concert again, as at most venues the audience stand up at some stage and if you are in a wheelchair you are unable to see. We have been to a couple of places where they have wheelchair platforms but on one occasion the platform was behind the stage to one side and whilst I might appreciate the rear view of the artist I am going to see, I don’t want to see it all evening.
Some venues need to realise that they are just not accessible and I am sure patrons would rather the venue say so than be given a substandard experience.
Well, next week we are trying to take a step to disregard all we thought about concerts and the Royal Albert Hall.
We are going to see James Blunt, at the Royal Albert Hall. We have a wheelchair space and we have a meal booked. We are not on a wheelchair platform and I am guessing even if the whole of the audience stand we will still be able to see but………..watch this space.
