Mickey I think you are taking the Mickey!!

We had been to Disneyland in LA several times, over the years, and always loved it.

We have also been to Disneyland Paris a few times, and it was great – until they closed Ebbsfleet Station, in Kent.

The parking in LA was fine, even when it moved further away, and we stayed at the Disneyland Paris Hotels, on three occasions, which meant the park was walk-able.

This park was very different.  We got off the Hotel Transfer Bus and it was an hour before we got into the park. We were weary before we had even started.

We thought we needed to ask at City Hall about Access, as one of us was in a wheelchair, but we were stopped before we even got there by a Cast Member, who was asking why we wanted to go into City Hall, it seemed a bit strange but we were on holiday. We were told if it was just mobility needs we didn’t need to do anything, just turn up at the rides and we would be told what to do.  I think she should have told us that we needed the Disney World Mobility Map, we only found it now, three days after we left Orlando. Why was the Cast Member there?  Was it just to stop the public going in? And why did she not furnish us with the correct map or information?

They no longer let wheelchair users go to the front of the queue, which seems fair, this is due to people abusing this and getting a wheelchair just to get on the rides quicker.  Personally I think it is shocking I know some people that used to use a stick at the airport, just to get on the plane first and some who claimed to be disabled, just to get cheaper theatre tickets. It is disgusting!

Back to the park, it just isn’t a patch on the others, it is just too big – bigger is not always better. There is a constant queue for the toilets almost everywhere and most of them didn’t even have a lock on the door. The lack of respect for others was also a big issue, pushing and running around others to get to the toilets first. One toilet was blocked for over six hours, without even a sign on the door!

Overall we wouldn’t go to any of the Florida Park again and even the Disney Hotels are so far away if I stayed there, expecting to have Mickey next door, I would be sadly disappointed.
