It’s that time of the year, the most romantic time of the year……………so they say.
What do you think of it? It is a chance for romance and fun, or is it so commercial and hyped up, that it has lost the romance.
I have been married over 30 years now and my Valentine’s Day has varied over the years.
This year we have exchanged card, which we always do.
We have varied if we have bought presents, sometimes, one of us got a present and sometimes one didn’t. One year I did send my husband a Rolo, it was meant to be specially packages, as my last Rolo. It was about 6 months later I remembered and ask if he ever got a Rolo and he said he thought it was a promotional thing, he ate it and as there was only one he didn’t even tell me. Who said romance is dead?? This year I requested a gift, I said I deserved one and I got a small fridge for the bedroom, which I am delighted with.
We are also dining out this year. We initially thought it was be too busy and too expensive and we order a meal box to cook at home. However, having had the previous meal box arrive at 8.00pm, we didn’t fancy starting unpacking a box at that time on Valentine’s Day. Just as I was thinkig that we got an email from Leeds Castle advertising dining at the Castle View Restaurant, so that will be our destination today. What did you do something special on the day or perhaps something special at the weekend?
