Think and Choose

In my last Blog, I talked about Cruises, but this time I thought I would give some more tips on Cruising, which I hope will be helpful.

You can book all kinds of Cabins at different rates. Sometimes, you get a cheaper rate if you don’t choose your actual Cabin. However, remember you could be allocated a Cabin anywhere, so unless you can sleep through anything, I would suggest choosing your cabin. I would also suggest that if the Cruise Company/Travel Agent say they are booking the best one for you, ask for details and check out the position on the ship, is it the best for you?

If you think this is a bit extreme, just consider, would you book a theatre or concert ticket, not knowing where you were sat.  Well you are only there a couple of hours, but you are on Cruise anything between 4 and 300 nights – yes people do stay for 100’s of night – it wouldn’t be my thing, but each to their own.  People think their cabin location doesn’t matter as they are never in it, but do you want to be woken up at 5.00am because you are below the pool and they are moving the sunbeds around, ready for the day ahead or do you want to be under the nightclub and we kept awake due to the noise of music until 3.00am or 4am? It might suit you if you are one of the party people, but it won’t if you aren’t.

I would also suggest that you check the ports you are visiting. Is it easy to get off and get to the town, do you need transport and is free transport available.

I normally look at the deck plans for the ship, You Tube also has views of most cabins and for the ports I look at https://www.whatsinport.com/
