To Cruise or not?

So Cruising is our thing, and it wasn’t for years, sadly, but I can’t go back change that.

For years, my mother-in-law wanted us to go on a Cruise, we had alwasys said no, as we liked to be independent. We often did fly-drive tours around the USA, we booked our own flights and hotels, did our own thing. When we fell out of love with flying, after 9/11, we started to take our own car to Europe, driving as far as Switzerland and Germany,  we still liked the independence.

When we were finally gifted a cruise, as we weren’t going to pay for something we wouldn’t like, we were hooked.

We started off with Balcony Cabins, then on our second or third Cruise we were upgraded, complimentary to a mini Suite, and I loved the perks. Next time, we booked ourselves a suite and have been doing so ever since.

The service varies from Cruise company to Cruise company. P&O provide a butler service, Princess provide a Concierge Lounge, Virgin Voyages provide a MegaRockstar Agent and I can’t honestly remember what Cunard provided.

Our favourites to Cruise with now are Princess and Virgin Voyages, they are both very different but both very enjoyable in different ways and certainly make Suite customers feel very pampered and special, if only for a few days a year.
