We regularly frequent the same hotels and restaurants. Although we enjoy trying new places, we also like familiar places; there is something comfortable about place were people know you and who you know.
Over time, you become happier in these places where you are greeted like a family member, greeted with a hug and kiss. Then one day you go and it is like you have never been before, you are treated differently. You see the same staff members, but they just say hello or in some cases don’t even speak. What do you do?
This has happened to us a couple of times in hotels and more recently in a restaurant. I actually watched the staff to see how they treated other people and it was a mixture of people you could tell were first time visitors and those who were regulars. I didn’t say anything, but I personally felt a bit uncomfortable, as I wondered what had changed?
If I had my way, I wouldn’t return, unless there was no other option, but on the other hand my husband wants to return, so who knows what we will do.
