If you pay for a Premium Ticket, or a Premium Lounge, what do you expect?
I recently purchased a Premium Ticket for the o2, and it included lounge access.
I wondered what I would get for my money. I knew it boasted complimentary drinks and food, but that is as little vague. What is the meaning of drinks? Just soft drinks or maybe beer and wine. What did they class as food – real food or just nibbles?
Well, I couldn’t have been more delighted with this lounge, the American Express Lounge at the o2. It gave all it promised and more in my eyes. There was a drinks menu, it included wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails. There was also a food menu, you got everything on the menu, unless you didn’t want the food. There was cold food, hot food, just small plates, but delicious, and later small desserts, also delicious.
The drinks were brought as and when we ordered them, our waiter was great.
There was even live music.
We were given a drinks voucher, for after the show, and we went back to let the crowds disperse. Once again there was live music, which was great.
The whole experience was great – staff, service, food, drink and live music.
We will definitely return!

Agreed the Amex Lounge was definitely beyond expectation. Like you said it was an unknown until we arrived but once there the service was great, I will definitely use again.
The only other thing similar to this that I have experienced is a bit different but was a total let down. On a visit to Universal Studios in Florida we bought fast passes in advance, which allows you to bypass the queues. Fantastic we thought until we realised having been round everything once, the fast passes were only good for one entrance on each ride, this was not pointed out to us in advance, and was not even accepted on some rides. We had used them when the park was fairly quiet so when we could have benefited from them later in the day when the park was really busy, unfortunately we had already used them.
So always check out exactly what you are getting for the extra money you are paying!
