What To Do?

We have been staying at the same hotel for several years now and we like the hotel. However, there have been issues on occasions. In the most part the issues have been sorted out but one issue keeps reoccurring and  I am not sure what I can do, other than take my custom else where?

The problem is Disabled Access, this Access is via a flight of stairs, that turns into a lift to transport a person in a wheelchair.  This hotel seem to have a lack of staff to operate this lift, particularly at night. There are never any staff about if it is raining or snowing. You ring a bell and the staff should come from inside, but they don’t, it is not unusual to wait 20 minutes and if it is raining or snowing both you and your wheelchair are getting wet.

I don’t want to call it discrimination,  but would an able-bodied person expect to be left outside in the snow for 20 minutes. What do you think?

  1. It’s definitely wrong but like you say what can you do? Personally I wouldn’t go there again there must be other good hotels that are disabled friendly.
