Hotels are all different and I used to think that some hotels were for certain people and other hotels were for a different type of persone. However, I no longer think that is the case.
We stay at lots of different hotels, and I enjoy a bit of luxury, but that is a bit of an ambiguous word. What is luxury to one person might not but to another.
When I stay at Holiday Inn Express, my luxuries are having a larger room with a bigger bed and having the free breakfast, which is always excellent at the Canterbury HIE. This hotel attracts an array of people, from professionals with business in the area, families on route to a European Holiday, or people just exploring the historic city and surrounding area.
Recently we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel at o2, and although this is a 5 star hotel, it has an array of different people staying there. There were people staying who had a wedding at the Hotel, Mums and daughters going to see Niall Horan and a mishmash of different tourists, wearing anything from a ball gown, jeans and a t-shirt and even those going to the spa wearing a robes and slippers. This hotel was suitable for all types and no-one felt or even looked out of place.
I liked this about the hotel.
